The Ton of soul empire

The Ton OF Soul Empire was the original group founded by Godxilla in the late 90's. The group always had revolving personnel but the core members of the original group were Godxilla (then named DJ C-ya), Mad Man, Mr Relentless, and Nova. There has been significant interest over the last couple of years into this era of production for Godxilla. This page is a record of the recordings that this group created.

There were three complete projects created by the group. For The Love Of It, The 11th Hour and Poltergeist. Only the first and the third projects were printed. The 11th Hour was scrapped in 2000. For the first time online ever all three projects are available for streaming.

It's a nice loop back into the origins or a rap music producer and a really cool archive for the people that were involved in the recordings. All of the album captions are written by Godxilla and from his perspective. Enjoy and try not to cringe as much as we cringed while preparing these digital remasters for you.

Continue the legacy

The Ton Of Soul Empire is Godxilla's origin story. Truth be told if not for a bunch of requests over the years he would never have released them. The people involved in the creation and business of these records need to have a chance to look back and enjoy the songs they made and time they spent creating art. Because of this, the records have been released for distribution.

The story continues..... That's right The Empire recordings spanned 1997-2001. This gave way to the rise of the "Alcatraz Era."
